The pair of Buddha at the Senso-ji temple in Asakusa, Tokyo, represents two Buddhist gods, Kannon-bosatsu (Avalokiteśvara in Sanskrit), which is the bodhisattva of compassion (on the right) and Seishi-bosatsu (Mahāsthāmaprāpta), the bodhisattva of wisdom.
