Akasaka White Sacas Winter Illuminations

Wed, January 4, 2012, by Muza-chan
Akasaka Sacas 「赤坂サカス」 is a commercial and recreational complex built in 2008 in Akasaka, Minato-ku, Tokyo, nearby the TBS Broadcasting Center. The complex includes an office building - Akasaka Biz Tower (better known for its Shops & Dining zone), a concert hall - Akasaka BLITZ, a general entertainment building - Akasaka ACT Theater and a residential building - Akasaka The Residence.

Sacas means "bloom" and the name was selected to symbolize the builders wishes for a "blooming of a new culture at Akasaka". Also, if you enjoy word play, it is noteworthy that saka 「坂」 means "hill" (Akasaka 「赤坂」 can be translated as "red hill") and pronounced backwards, Akasaka Sacas will result in "saka saka saka"...

The Akasaka Sasas illuminations for this year were themed "Harmony" and the main feature were delicate bamboo lights. They will be lit until February 19:
