Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

The Astro Boy mural painting in Takadanobaba

Sat, October 7, 2017, by Muza-chan
The idea to make a wall painting with characters from Astro Boy near Takadanobaba Station came from a member of the Takadanobaba West Shopping District Promotion Association. It took 4 years and a half to finalize the project, and in April 1998 the first mural painting was ready in Takadanobaba.

When the station was renovated in 2005 the painting was removed and it was restored 3 years later on its current location, under the elevated railway tracks on the Mejiro side. A second Astro Boy mural was added later on the Seibu side.
