The beauty of a single cherry tree

The image of a group of cherry trees in full bloom is truly delightful... but sometimes, a single tree can be as charming as well. A single blossoming cherry tree can catch your attention and, while visiting the Heian-jingū in Kyoto, I found myself in an almost meditative state as I focused first on the crown, then to the branches and then to the flowers...
