Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Bitchu Matsuyama Castle

Sat, February 18, 2017, by Muza-chan
Japan has 21 mountains over 3000 meters and several dozens over 2000, but mountains so tall were inconvenient for castle building. Actually, the castle at the highest altitude, 430 meters, is Bitchū Matsuyama, on Mount Gagyu, in Takahashi, Okayama Prefecture. The height and the mountain shape was enough to make it easily defensible, while remaining easily accessible for supplies.
