That's the case with the Sengan-en garden in Kagoshima, were a Chinese-style pavilion was placed in the most scenic part of the garden, with the Mount Sakurajima on one side and the lake on the other. The Bogakuro pavilion was a gift received by the lord of Satsuma (the owner of the garden) from the king of the Ryukyu Kingdom (today's Okinawa).
