Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Chaniwa, tea garden

Mon, January 21, 2019, by Muza-chan
Photographed here is the Zangetsu-tei tea ceremony tea house (chashitsu) in Sendai. The garden surrounding a chashitsu, called chaniwa or roji, must include several elements: a stone basin (on the bottom-right corner of the photo), several lanterns, a stone path and plants selected so that the garden will look good in any season.
