Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Chrysanthemum bonsai

Fri, February 10, 2017, by Muza-chan
The art of making bonsai was also extended in Japan to the more delicate flowers, such as the chrysanthemums. Most chrysanthemum varieties have a lifespan of several years, enough tome for a gardener to obtain the thick branches that give bonsai its distinct shape. For the trunk, the roots of the chrysanthemum are exposed, wrapped around a rock or around a wooded piece.
