Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Chrysanthemum display, Overhanging cliff form

Sat, November 9, 2019, by Muza-chan
For the autumn chrysanthemum displays, the large flowers are presented in separate pots, while the plants witth small flowers are displayed in three types of displays: as bonsai, as spherical bushes, or like in this photo.

This display is called kengai zukuri, meaning "overhanging cliff form". There's a single plant in the pot, grown on a bamboo frame to give the impression of a cascade of flowers.
