The instant noodles were invented in 1958 by Momofuku Ando, who established the Nissin Food Products company, and their first product was Chikin Ramen (chicken ramen).

Launched in 1971, Cup Noodle is a dried noodle block sold in a polystyrene cup, a revolutionary concept that made possible to prepare and serve the noodles directly form the package, without the need for another bowl. And since the vending machines were already hugely popular in Japan, a Cup Noodle vending machine was also launched, providing hot water so you can immediately enjoy the noodles...
