Daibutsu Face

In the Ueno Park from Tokyo, on the Daibutsu Yama (the Great Buddha Hill), it stands displayed the face of a Daibutsu, the only remnant of a Great Buddha statue built during the Edo period.
The Ueno Daibutsu was a sitting Buddha - see here a photo from Taishō period. During the Great Kanto Earthquake in 1923, the face of the statue fell off. It was preserved at the Kanei-ji Temple until 1967, when it was enshrined here:
