Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Daitoku-in Somon gate

Fri, March 25, 2016, by Muza-chan
If you feel like taking a night stroll to Tokyo Tower, make a small detour towards Prince Park Tower to admire this architectural jewel, spectacularly lit at night.

This gate is the only surviving structure of the mausoleum complex Daitoku-in, built at the beginning of the Edo Period by the third shogun of the Tokugawa dynasty, Iemitsu, to honor the memory of his father, Tokugawa Hidetada.
