Edo period street

Fri, August 25, 2017, by Muza-chan
The Bōsō no Mura Open Air Museum in Chiba offers a complex image of the life in Japan 150 years ago, featuring a street with all kind of buildings specific to the era. There are farms, samurai homes, and even a commercial area on the street photographed here, lined by workshops and merchant houses. There's also an Inari shrine and a fire lookout tower (Hinomi-yagura, in teh center right of the photo) used by the firemen to survey the villages.
