Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

The Futara Spiritual Spring

Sat, August 21, 2010, by Muza-chan
Behind the main building (Honden) of the Futarasan Shrine from Nikko, you can find a spring whose water is collected into a small pond.

This is the Futara Spiritual Spring and it is believed that the water has healing properties on eye diseases, but it is also very good for sake. That's why, nearby, there's a teahouse where the visitors can drink green tea and amazake (traditional sweet, low-alcoholic, rice beverage), both made with water from the Spiritual Spring.
