Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Google Street View now on Water, Sumida River

Mon, April 11, 2011, by Muza-chan
I frequently use Google Maps, especially Google Street View, it has become an indispensable tool for planning my trips... I often prepare maps for the places I'm visiting and I check with Google Street View to see if the directions are correct. This saved me a lot of time and energy searching the tangled streets of Tokyo...

That's why I was happy to learn today (thanks to @japanobserver) that Google Japan launched the first "street view on water". And my joy was even greater when I saw that it is one of my favorite routes, the Sumida River, from Asakusa to Tokyo Bay:

... and here's a nice short video showing how they recorded the Street View images: :)
