Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Hidden Great Buddha on Kurama, Kyoto

Tue, September 2, 2014, by Muza-chan
If you visit the Kurama mountain, north of Kyoto, before arriving at Kurama-dera, right behind the purification fountain, you will see another temple hall, Tenporin-do.

Usually the hall has its doors shut, but don't discourage... Carefully slide the door open and you will be delighted by one of the most beautiful Great Buddha (Daibutsu) statues...

Daibutsu, Tenporin-do, Kurama-dera, Kyoto
