Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Hiroshima castle original method reconstructions

Tue, May 7, 2019, by Muza-chan
The Hiroshima castle was destroyed by the atomic bomb explosion at the end of WWII. After the main keep was rebuilt of concrete, a series of other buildings such as the main gate were reconstructed by using original methods.

In today's photo you can see the main gate, a construction in the style yagura-mon (which means that it features a yagura tower built on top) and two corner turrets (sumi yagura) connected by a nagaya yagura, a long construction used as storehouse.
