Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Hiroshima Shukkei-en, the story of a name

Fri, June 20, 2014, by Muza-chan
One of the most beautiful and complex Japanese gardens I have visited so far is Shukkei-en in Hiroshima, a garden designed as a collection of miniaturized scenic views, with a lake in the middle and with miniaturized islands, bridges, mountains and forests... Actually, the name of the garden, Shukkei-en, comes from the very concept of "condensed scenery garden".
