Hozuki, the Japanese lantern plant

Wed, June 19, 2019, by Muza-chan
Cultivated in Japan since the Edo period, both for ornamental use and as a medicinal plant, the hozuki (known in the West as Japanese lantern or Chinese lantern) received its name from the shape and the texture of the fruit, that looks like a small paper lantern.
