Inokashira Benzaiten temple

This temple, dedicated to the water goddess Benzaiten, is located on a small island on the Inokashira lake in Tokyo. It is known that it was established 1200 years ago by Minamoto no Tsunemoto, and that the enshrined statue was sculpted by Dengyo Daishi, the founder of the Tendai school of Buddhism.
