Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Traditional Japan, Fukagawa Row House Interior

Wed, May 18, 2011, by Muza-chan
For someone interested in the history of Japan (like me...), the Fukagawa Edo Museum is a must visit place in Tokyo. Here, inside the museum's building, you will find an accurate reproduction of a street from Fukagawa, like it used to be around the year 1830: a boathouse tavern, a merchant house, fish, vegetable and rice stores, a rice warehouse, a fire watchtower and several row houses.

And speaking of the famous Edo row houses, this is how the interior used to look like. Would you like to have lived in one?
