Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Izumo Taisha Seidamari no torii

Sat, June 17, 2017, by Muza-chan
While approaching the Izumo Taisha shrine, you will pass the the first torii gate several hundred meters before reaching the shrine, in the commercial area of the city. The second torii gate, photographed here, is at the entrance to the park where the shrine is located.

Because the place is called Seidamari Plaza, this gate is called Seidamari no torii (the gateway of Seidamari). This torii marks the entrance to the sacred area, and before reaching the shrine, which is inside a closed area, there are two more such torii gates.
