Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Izumo Taisha Soga-no Yashiro

Sun, July 14, 2019, by Muza-chan
Soga-no Yashiro is an auxiliary shrine of the Izumo Taisha Grand Shrine, dedicated to Susano-o, the god of sea and storms.

Accroding to Shinto practice, many shrines in the Shikoku and Chūgoku regions, called Izumo yashiki, were purified with small quantities of sand taken from under the floor of this shrine.
