Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Japanese Architecture, Kobe Port Tower

Sat, May 19, 2012, by Muza-chan
Arguably one of the most beautiful towers from Japan, the hyperboloid Kobe Port Tower is the receiver of multiple awards for architecture. Built in 1963, this Kobe landmark was designed to imitate, with its lattice structure, the shape of a traditional Japanese drum used in Kabuki and Noh theaters, the tsuzumi.

Located in the Meriken Park, the Kobe Port Tower is 108 meters tall and features an observation deck located 90 meters above ground, including a coffee shop and a souvenir shop and offering a spectacular view over Kobe.
