Japanese architecture, Shibuya Hikarie

The newest skyscraper from Shibuya, Tokyo, was inaugurated the last year as part of a larger project to revitalize the entire area. With a height of 182.5 meters, the Shibuya Hikarie is just 1.5 meters shorter than the nearby skyscraper Cerulean Tower and it ranks as the 38th tallest building in Tokyo.

Today, this glass skyscraper seems a bit out of place, rising between old buildings, but its architecture will be highlighted by newer constructions, since as part of the revitalization project the entire Shibuya Station area will change dramatically during the next 4 years...
