Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Japanese castle architecture, the tallest stone walls

Fri, January 17, 2014, by Muza-chan
The main tower (tenshu) of the Marugame Castle, one of the 12 still original Japanese castles, is located on top of a hill and can be accessed only by climbing a steep path, right next to the castle's stone walls.

The climbing makes for a great experience, but for the photo I preferred the view from the street, showing these amazing 60 meters tall walls, the tallest castle stone walls in Japan.
