Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Japanese Companies, Matsumoto Kiyoshi

Sat, September 14, 2013, by Muza-chan
Although I only visit Japan about two times per year, during the last years I became accustomed to many daily life routines in Japan. Part of the routine is buying daily-use commodities like toiletries, cosmetics, etc. because I hate carrying them from home... So, one of the stores I often visit during the first days of the trip is the Matsumoto Kiyoshi chain, which offers a large variety of products with very competitive prices.

The company, which is now the drugstore chain with the highest sales in Japan, started in 1932 as a private drugstore owned by Kiyoshi Matsumoto in the Chiba Prefecture. Their concept is to have customer-friendly stores, with cheap but good quality products.

So far, I was always happy with what I bought from them... and I must also tell you that I was amazed, a couple of times, about how good were the sellers at predicting the weather and promoting umbrellas just before the rain started... (^_^)
