Japanese mascots, Toraccha

Created on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the castle's reconstruction, the mascot of Kokura castle is a tiger, because in the zodiac this is the animal representing the year 1866, when the old castle was destroyed.

As a castle mascot, Toraccha is obviously a samurai, wearing a sword and a kabuto helmet. Here it is, painted on the vending machines nearby the castle...
