Japanese modern architecture, Chiba Port Tower

First during the 50s and 60s, and later during the 90s, Japan experienced a trend of building towers. Although the trend declined after 2000, the success of the recent and most important Tokyo Sky Tree indicates that the era of towers in Japan is far from over. 20 of these towers are reunited under the All-Japan Tower Association, and I noticed that the tourist interest is still strong.

Of course, whenever I had the chance I visited their observatories, but I also love to admire them from below, for their architecture. Here's one of my favorites, the Chiba Port Tower, a 125 meters high needle built in 1986 to celebrate the population of Chiba Prefecture exceeding 5 million people. With a very narrow rhomboid section, just 15 meters per side, and covered by glass, I love how the tower reflects everything around it...
