Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Japanese modern architecture, Konkokyo Karasuma, Kyoto

Fri, May 16, 2014, by Muza-chan
Vaguely reminding of the French "Notre Dame du Haut" chapel, this building on the Karasuma-dori in Kyoto is also a church, belonging to Konkōkyō, a religion that appeared in Japan at the end of the Edo Period, in 1859.
A cold but interesting building, especially due to its asymmetrical design...
