Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Japanese traditional architecture, Irimoya

Fri, March 4, 2016, by Muza-chan
I wrote some time ago about the kirizuma type of roof, the simplest roof in the Japanese traditional architecture.

At the opposite end is Irimoya, the most complex and expensive style, a type of hip-and-gable roof. Of course, Irimoya is also the most aesthetic, being used at Shinto shrines, Buddhist temples or palaces.
