Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Japanese traditional house, Wooden veranda

Sat, February 21, 2015, by Muza-chan
The traditional Japanese house often features a veranda (engawa) on one or more sides. Besides its aesthetic role, the engawa, covered by roof, provides protection against rain and snow for the shoji screens, made of washi traditional paper.
Of course, the engawa is also a great place to relax and admire the garden...
