Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Japanese Zen gardens, Stepping stones

Mon, October 3, 2016, by Muza-chan
Photographed here is the Zen garden of Raikyu-ji, in Takahashi, Okayama. Usually used to cross water streams, the stepping stones are sometimes arranged in the dry Karesansui gardens to allow visitors to pass over the sand waves, which in the Zen gardens symbolism are also representing the water.
