Christmas cake tradition. About a decade later, the Japanese Christmas menu was enriched by... another advertising campaign. It all started in 1974, when KFC run the campaign "
Kurisumasu ni wa Kentakkii!" (Kentucky for Christmas!). It is said that the idea came from a foreigner who, unable to find turkeys in Japan, declared that it will replace them with fried chicken from KFC...
And since the KFC chicken is now a modern tradition, it is only natural to have the KFC Colonel Sanders statues dressed up as Santa...
