Kiyosu Castle

Built more than 600 years ago, the Kiyosu castle was a strategic fortress, located at the crossroads of two major roads. It was dismantled at the beginning of the Edo period, and parts of the materials were used at the construction of Nagoya castle. Also, a gate, several sliding doors and the shachi decorations of the Kiyosu castle are preserved in several temples in the area.

The people of Kiyosu city wanted to rebuild the castle, and even if there was no information left about how it looked like, it was reconstructed by using the Inuyama castle as a model, because this castle is representative for the period when Kiyosu-jō was made.
