Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Kokura castle and RiverWalk Kitakyushu

Sat, April 21, 2018, by Muza-chan
One of the best combinations of old and new architecture in Japan is the mix between the castle and the ultra-modern shopping mall RiverWalk Kitakyushu.

Actually, even the mall has something traditional here, because the colors of the buildings were selected to signify important aspects of the Japanese culture: the white of the plaster walls, the red of the Japanese lacquer, the yellow of the rice fields and the grey-black of the traditional roof tiles.

Kokura, Kitakyushu
