Kumamoto high-ranking samurai residence

The former residence of Hosokawa Gyobu in Kumamoto was damaged by the earthquake in 2016 and it is closed for now, but it will be reopened together with the Kumamoto castle.

With a total surface of over 900 meters, the house is a representative home for the high-ranking samurai of the Edo period, being declared an Important Cultural Property of Kumamoto Prefecture.
