Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Kurashiki Yurinso Villa

Fri, January 22, 2016, by Muza-chan
Among all the storehouse-style buildings in the Bikan Historical Quarter of Kurashiki, most of then with grey-white walls and roofs, there is a house, the Yurinso Villa, that stands out because of its unique green ceramic roof tiles.

Aptly nicknamed "the Green Palace", the house was built by Magosaburo Ōhara, a businessman who owned a textile company and founded the Ōhara Art Museum, the oldest museum of western art in Japan.
