Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Kyoto Arashiyama bamboo groves

Tue, September 11, 2012, by Muza-chan
If you like bamboo forests (I simply love them), one of the best places to visit in Japan is the trail near the Tenryū-ji Temple from Arashiyama, a district located in the western Kyoto.

The trail passes through an old and thick bamboo forest - it is an amazingly beautiful place - and when the sun shines, the light passing through the foliage creates magical light spots. However, the light spots don't look that well in a photo, so I just sit there, waiting for some clouds... and yesterday it was exactly such a day in Kyoto! So here it is, the path through the Arashiyama bamboo groves, on a day with a beautiful light...
