Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Kyoto Kitano Tenmangu shrine main hall

Thu, July 25, 2019, by Muza-chan
The Shinto Tenman-gū shrines are dedicated to Sugawara Michizane, the kami Tenjin of Academics, Scholarship and Learning. Shrines like the one in the photo, Kitano Tenmangu in Kyoto, are particularly crowded during the exams, when students and their families are coming here to pray for success.
