Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Kyoto Nijo Castle Ninomaru garden

Tue, December 13, 2016, by Muza-chan
The oldest of the three gardens of the Nijo castle is the Ninomaru garden, built during the Edo period. It is a garden with a lake with 3 islands, designed by the landscape architect and tea master Kobori Enshu.

It is my favorite among all three, because I'm fascinated by the rich collection of beautiful rocks, harmoniously placed around the lake's shore.
