Kyoto Nijo castle Seiryu-en garden

The Nijō Castle in Kyoto has three gardens, the most recent of them being Seiryu-en, created 66 years ago. Seiryu-en is made of two large parts, one designed in the Western style and another in the traditional style, actually a beautiful collection of three small Japanese gardens.

Photographed here is an admirable landscape inside the Japanese part, a small pond garden with a Horaijima type island in the middle of the pond, next to the tea house usually featured by these gardens...
