Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Kyoto, the garden of Soami

Sun, July 30, 2017, by Muza-chan
The gardens of Shoren-in, Kyoto, were made by two famous designers. The one at the base of the Awata Mountain was designed by Soami, a painter and landscape artist, so the garden is named today the "Garden of Soami".

It is said that Soami made his gardens by simplifying and using only the essential elements of nature. His garden at Shoren-in has two important attractions, the pond, which I already presented in a previous post (link) and the bamboo grove, photographed here.
