Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Manga and anime shopping in Tokyo, Ikebukuro new Animate shop

Fri, February 20, 2015, by Muza-chan
The first Animate store was inaugurated 32 years ago in Tokyo, Ikebukuro, right across the Sunshine City. Targeted at female customers, its presence heavily influenced the area, leading to the nickname of "Otome Road".

Since then, many other stores were opened and there are about 100 of them today, which makes Animate the largest retailer of manga, anime and games in Japan (and probably in the entire world). And it seems that the old Ikebukuro store has become too small, so a larger one was recently opened a bit further.
If you're interested, here's the new Animate shop Google Maps location.
