Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Maruoka castle

Sun, May 5, 2019, by Muza-chan
The last researches at the Maruoka castle have revealed that its main keep was built at least 48 years later than it was originally believed. It was believed by some specialists to be the oldest castle preserved in its original form, but now it is certain that two other castles are older: the Matsumoto castle's Inui Kotenshu and the Inuyama castle.

Obviously, this doesn't change its value. Maruoka is one of the most beautiful and best preserved Japanese castles.
