Massha Mitomo Jinja

Inside the Futarasan Shrine from Nikko there are 23 constructions registered as Important Cultural Properties.
One of them is the main building (Honden) of the Massha Mitomo Shrine, an architectural jewel only 2.3m wide and 3.5m deep. Dedicated to a kami of wisdom and learning, the Shrine was originally built in the middle of the Edo period. The present-day building was reconstructed in 1973:
