Matsuyama castle main keep

The Matsuyama castle was the last Japanese castle in the Edo period that received approval for the reconstruction of the main keep, in 1820, after the old keep was hit by lightning. Finalized in 1852, it was also the last castle erected before the feudal system was abolished by the Meiji Restoration.
