Miyajima's most visible construction

Although the most famous constructions on the Miyajima Island are the Itsukushima Shrine and its Otorii gate, the most visible construction on the island is the 27.6 meters-tall five-storied pagoda, built on the hill near Senjokaku, the Hall of One Thousand Tatami Mats.

Built in 1407 and restored in 1945, this old pagoda still looks like it was freshly painted in its beautiful vermilion color. It looks great from every angle, but my favorite view was the one from this photo, over the roofs of the Itsukushima Shrine...
