Muza-chan's Gate to Japan

Mount Hakodate, one of the Three Major Night Views of Japan

Sun, October 19, 2014, by Muza-chan
One of the things considered when I prepared for this trip was to visit several objectives recorded on the "canonical" lists of Japanese superlatives. I am still half way through the 12 original castles, but I already visited all the Three Great Gardens of Japan and, during the next weeks, I want to complete another list, the Three Major Night Views of Japan (Nihon Sandai Yakei).

So, here I am today climbing on Mount Hakodate, to admire my second Major Night Views of Japan (after Nagasaki). This view of Hakodate is also recorded in the Michelin Green Guide as an attraction with 3 of 3 stars, a superlative rating matched only by the mountain views of Hong Kong and Naples.

The lights of the city, the orange streetlights and the dark surface of the water are all combined here into an extraordinary scenery... Simply beautiful!
