The Nagoya Honmaru Palace was rebuilt recently from old drawings and photos, by using traditional materials and construction techniques, and the new paintings were inspired by the originals which were saved from the fire. It is an amazingly beautiful place, well worth a visit if you're visiting Nagoya...
